A fabric market with more than 250 vendors, offering fabrics from
silk, linen, cotton, to cashmere or leather, of all kinds. Most of the
fabrics are the stocks from the factories, keep your eyes sharp to
beware of fakes and bargain heavily, you can bring some great curtain
materials for your home.
Or have a copy of your favorite suit made up
for next, every stall has a tailor. Take a Chinese speaker with
you, few tailors speak English. |

Sprawling across Dong Tai and Liu He Kou roads (near Xintiandi), this
outdoor market might overflow with fakes (some say less than 5% of the
items are genuine), but it¡¯s a fun place to browse and rummage.
Behind each stall is a larger shop with pricier items displayed under
counters. Interesting buys include embroidered slippers for bound
feet, Communist-era posters, Maoist memorabilia and black-and-white
photos of old Shanghai. Take a look inside Chine Antiques, 38 Liu He
Kou Lu, for beautifully restored Qing Dynasty wooden furniture. |

Market found beside Yuyuan Garden is a bazaar of stores that sells
traditional Chinese arts and crafts and souvenirs.
The stores sell a
mish-mash of items including chopsticks, Chinese medicine, walking
sticks, fans, silk umbrellas, bamboo and rattan furniture, goldfish,
pottery, plus much more. Part of the market has also been transformed
into an indoor mall.
Food is also a great temptation in Yuyuan Market
with local delicacies such as xiao long bao, pigeon egg dumplings and
spicy cold noodles from the street stalls or numerous restaurants. |

Market is a new dressing and gifts market born out of The Famous
Xiangyang Market in downtown which was closed in 2006.
